PGCM from FRED is a one-year full time certificate program. The PGCM certificate prepares young aspiring professionals and executives from non-management field, to develop the managerial and leadership attributes, essential in the rigorous and ever-demanding business world. With the objectives of the program aimed at not just imparting the knowledge of managerial concepts and current business affairs, but also creatively designed to develop the functional and soft skills required from the budding managers and business leaders of the future world.
The Industry 4.0 today demands managerial talent prepared for the challenges of specific industries. This is due to the managerial challenges faced by every industry is unique and decision making approaches need to be in these unique contexts. A customarily trained managerial talent, through the PGCM program, is allowed to choose industry specialisation of his choice. Delivered through a portfolio of faculties from across academia and industry, and case-based, simulated activity driven and technologically optimised blended learning methods, the 4-term PGCM is designed to deliver below courses:
|1||Management Principles & People Management||Management is a science and art, both. This course aims to train students on the principles of scientific management – leading, planning, organising and controlling process, in addition to teach a series of relevant organisational behavioural theories – that define individual and group behaviour in workplace. A brief introduction to the HR Management processes, including organisation structures, recruitment, and training and performance management systems is also included|
|2||Accounting & Costing for Managers||Accounting is the language of the business. Understanding this language makes the manager, communicate with stakeholders more effectively, in addition this also enables better decision making. This course aims to give a basic introduction to the transaction recording process in businesses, financial statements, and the ownership dynamics of businesses. The second part of the course, also covers the cost reduction and control aspects.|
|3||Business Communication & Professional Etiquette||This course provides a comprehensive, integrated approach to learn the written and oral communication, with skill demonstration and practice. The second part of the course is a hands-on workshop that aims to build the professional etiquette required for a manager – address, attire, email, telephone, greeting leave message and social media presence.|
|4||Family Business Management (Workshop)||This workshop will aim to create an understanding of the managerial challenges in case of family owned businesses. One of the key learning is the family office wealth inheritance management.|
|1||Essential Corporate Finance Tools||Finance is the lifeline of any business. In this course, students would learn various tools and techniques of analysing the financial performance of a business, managing the working capital, evaluating financial feasibility of projects and also a brief introduction to capital markets.|
|2||Macro Business Environment||This course links various micro economic concepts, subtly into demonstrating how the macroeconomic environment affects. The students would also learn how to evaluate various macro-economic and industry specific indicators, on the impact on business.|
|3||Analytics for Decision Making||This course is aimed at introducing various quantitative techniques for business decision making, data analysis techniques and a very basic introduction to few tools for such analysis – excel, tableau, R and SPSS|
|4||Building Agile Personality||This course is a soft skill development course for a budding business manager, and develops the ability to adopt how things are done to the situation at hand.|
|1||Marketing Strategies||This course aims to teach fundamental marketing concepts, marketing strategy process, selling skills with special focus on industry-specific products/services, and also introduce to the world of digital marketing|
|2||Teamwork & Collaboration Skills||Managers need to be essentially team players. The interdependency between various stakeholders of a project. This course targets to develop the team-playing attitude in the budding managers and also collaborative workplace management skills, much needed in today’s complex work systems.|
|3||Advanced Excel for Business Decisions||Spreadsheets (MS-Excel) have widespread applications in any business. This hands-on workshop trains students on getting comfortable with MS-Excel, and learn various modelling tools project management|
|4||Innovation & Design Thinking (Workshop)||This design thinking workshop, teaches each step of design thinking process through experiential hands-on learning activities, including skill of turning ideas into action|
|1||Management Information Systems||Student learns the interaction and application of computer systems, in the overall business organisation and role of technology. The 2nd part of the course, introduced the students few essential business tools/applications and their optimum usage MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Teams, TeamViewer & Google Studio Etc)|
|2||Operations Research & Management||Student learns few analytical methods or problem solving and decision making useful in managing businesses. The course also uses tools like R & Python to solve optimisation, simulation and data analytic tools at an introductory level.|
|3||High Performance Team Leadership||This leadership workshop focuses on building the leadership skills in students to lead a group of goal-focused individuals with specialised expertise and complementary skills who collaborate, innovate and produce consistently superior results.|
|4||Business Plan & Project Proposal Writing (Workshop)||This practical workshop gives step-by-step process to draft a winning business plan and project proposal, based on global best practices and investor pitch needs|
The “Post-Graduate Certificate in Management” is issued to the student upon completion of attendance & assessment requirements of each course. A total of 40 credit (400 hours) of classroom attendance, self-learning & course project work need to be necessarily completed, as well as clear the assessment pattern of different courses. The assessment and grading in each course is decided and communicated by the respective faculty at the beginning of the course. Assessments generally would include case studies, seminars, project work, surprise quizzes, examination and/or other modes.
Graduation in any discipline or executives with minimum 2 years of work experience are eligible.
The program fee is Rs. 40000 plus GST (as applicable) payable in two instalments.
