He has wide-ranging experience in both the corporate sector as well as in academics. After graduating from IIM-A, he worked in various leading companies for thirty-one years. Simultaneously he also taught management in business schools. His specialization is in the area of Operations Management and General Management. Before joining SDM-IMD he was Vice President – Operations with Sanmar Engineering Corporation, Chennai. During his career in industry, he taught in KIMS, Karnataka University as a guest faculty. He has served as a member on several panels of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Karnataka University.
Presently he is an Executive Board Member of Association of Indian Management Schools
Dr R Karthikeyan is Clinical Psychologist qualified from NIMHANS Bangalore and has a PhD in Psychology from University of Madras. He started his corporate career as Training Manager with The Murugappa Group followed by Hyundai Motor India Ltd as its first HR manager.
He founded Gemba, a management consulting company in 2000. Today Gemba has more than 400 clients across the country. Being a Psychologist with special interests in theatrics and writing, he is one of the most sought after corporate trainers in South India. Having trained more than 50,000 employees across industrial sectors, he holds the distinction of working with organisations of various nationalities like French, British, Americans, Latin Americans, Germans, Italians, South Koreans, Japanese and Taiwanese to name a few.
With over two and a half decades of training experience, he has also been very successful in Business Transformation initiatives, Incubating startups, family business consulting & advising strategy and facilitating marketing insights apart from HR services
He writes in English and Tamil. He has 5 books in Tamil to his credit. He is a columnist with The Hindu ( Tamil) and regular contributor to various TV channels.
He has 18 years of association with ISTD, where he served chennai chapter in various capacities before getting elected to National Office.
Sampath Kasirajan (Sam), a management graduate with a professional and business career spanning over 32 years, carries a very rich and diverse experience in the area of supply chain management, value chain analytics, capacity building and cluster development. His passion for Collaborative Science in supply chains which started in the 90’s in Australia still dominate most of his researches & solutions that he offers to both public and private sectors at present.
The subject of ESG became more pronounced in his consulting repertoire after his involvement in an environmental project initiated by the Nordic Council. His paper on green verticals and green corridors at the Copenhagen Workshop threw new light on how to help global brands overcome the vexatious issue of managing the ESG credentials of their global supply chain partners. His model titled Five P on building sustainable handloom clusters was recognized as a stand out idea for its vision and clarity by MIT Sloan qualifying it for support under their SEID Programme -Sloan Entrepreneurs for International Development. At present he is involved mostly in developmental projects in war torn countries and developing nations on behalf of GIZ, Germany and ITC, Geneva, a UN Agency formed by WTO and UNCTAD..
He makes a strong case for employing innovative supply chain architectures and disruptive business models to resolve some of the “new-age” challenges faced in the socio-economic domain. He also believes that technology is a big leveler creating equal opportunities and a level playing field for the SMEs. His passion for sharing knowledge complements the passion he has for teaching as he allocates a part of his time to stay connected with the academics through guest lectures, seminars, mentoring and training assignments both in India and overseas. He is also a mentor in the ICC Panel -( International Innovation Corps) constituted by the University of Chicago..
